Reports from the wards across Ondo state indicated that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP may have won in 10 out of the 18 council areas of the state in the last saturday general elections.
Although collations are still ongoing and some results are yet to arrive the state but findings showed that the results are close.
INEC is however yet to release the results with the state REC Olusegun Agbaje asking journalists to exercise patience until all the results are out.
Collation are ongoing at St Peters Primary school as at the time of filling in this report.
Vanguard learnt that the APC defeated the ruling PDP in the four local governments in Akoko, Owo, Ifedore, Akure South and Akure North.
The ruling PDP according to wards results compiled showed it won in Ondo West, Ondo East, Ose, Idanre, Ilaje, Ese-Odo, Irele, Odigbo, Ile-oluji/Okeigbo, and Okitipupa.
Meanwhile, a Collation Officer has been arrested by the police for allegedly tampering with election result sheets that was submitted to him after the voting.
The State REC Olusegyn Agbaje said the man had been taken to the police headquarters for interrogation over an alleged mutilation of collation forms
Agbaje pointed out that the allegation is under investigation by the police.
Speaking on the delay in the result, the REC assured the people of the state that the results would soon be sorted out.
Agbaje said the collation process would not be manipulated adding that” no local government has completed its compilation.
